Nigel Smith is a journalist, playwright and TV comedy producer. He has also co-written the BBC One sitcom Doctors and Nurses and the comedy series Teenage Kicks, broadcast on both radio and TV. In 2001 he suffered a serious brain illness, which inspired him to write the award-winning BBC Radio 4 comedy series Vent, as well as chronicle his life-changing experiences in this highly acclaimed book. He is married with three children and lives on the south coast with most of them.
