Marx lived in London as a political exile from 1849 until his death in 1883. This book links the story of Marx's life in London to the places he lived and worked, and is aimed at visitors who are interested in seeing the places with which he was particularly associated. Marx spent most of the first years in London in Soho, before moving to Kentish Town in 1856. ASA BRIGGS is one of the most highly respected British historians. He is the author of Victorian People, Victorian Cities and Victorian Things. He has also written a five-volume history of broadcasting in the United Kingdom. He was made a life peer in 1976.

Phil Piratin was a Communist member of Parliament in Britain from 1945 through 1950. John Callow is the chief librarian of the Marx Memorial Library. He is the author of several books, including "The King in Exile," "The Making of King James II," and "The Triumph and the Tragedy,"
