Synopsis

The Credit Management Handbook provides a comprehensive, down-to-earth guide to every aspect of managing credit. The key message throughout is that cash flow and profits can be much improved by proper planning, motivation and control, without in the least jeopardising sales or alienating customers. All of the key credit control issues are covered including: how to decide how much credit to give a customer; how to overcome excuses when collecting overdue debts; how to decide payment terms for foreign customers; how to use the courts for serious debts. If credit managers, and all those responsible for managing their company's largest asset - receivables - read and apply just some of the techniques and ideas this handbook contains, it will repay their investment many, many times over. To aid the many readers who are studying for ICM qualification, samples of recent ICM examination questions have been added to a number of chapters.
