This book aims to describe a number of software tools designed for the preparation of Computer Aided Learning materials (CAL) in mathematics. These tools have been constructed in the course of the CALM Project which is based at the Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. It explains the features of software design favoured by the CALM Project team and it deals not only with CAL in mathematics but also with CAL in general. The CALM Project provides a practical example of software development in the programming language of Pascal. In the course of its chapters this book illustrates the basic elements of Pascal programming, choosing the examples from CALM software. (AQ).
