Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Near Fine. 1st Edition. Crown 8vo.(5.25 x 8") 288p. David Smee provides jacket art & headpieces(chapter ornaments) for each of the seventeen stories. Ex-library copy with only one stamp to title page; otherwise no intrusive date slips, pockets or stamps to any of the text block edges. Unclipped wrapper has been extremely well-preserved being under protective film for all(?) its years. A bit of creasing to reverse and some wrinkles to spine head; but still retains gloss and there are no tears, chips or any loss. Olive green cloth binding is clean and secure, however book is warped with attendant cocked spine. A bit of foxing to top edge. Not a bad copy if you can tolerate its warped state; given the relative scarcity of this title I would reckon many a collector could. Interesting note: another title in this Gollancz series had a price of 1 pound 80 in '74; the price had then risen to 3 pound 95 in '78(span of just four years). Also, The Monster Makers @ 288p eclipses the other books by nearly 100p.! N° de réf. du vendeur 72671
