Scattering in intergalactic plasma produces the well-known logarithmic relationship between redshift and distance without what had previously been considered to be an inevitable consequence of a 'tired light' model. The Hubble constant is determined by the average dynamic pressure of the plasma. The extreme temperatures and higher concentrations in intra-cluster plasma produce the 'fingers of god' effects that have previously been attributed to actual high velocity dispersion caused by additional 'dark matter' in clusters and large galaxies according to the 'standard' cosmological model. When effected throughout a redshifting medium, the scattering that results in all thermalization of radiation, produces the blackbody distribution that is at a lower temperature than that of the particles in the scattering medium. Hence the 2.725 K microwave background results from scattering in a medium that is orders of magnitude hotter throughout.Redshifting associated with Hubble's constant converts the energy released in the generation of the ubiquitous 24% helium by mass throughout the universe into the observed radiation density of the microwave background. Thus, unlike for the 'standard' model where additionally a billion times the mass of the current universe had to have been annihilated just to originate background radiation, all the parameters of the current universe fit into a coherent accounting.Previously confusing cosmological effects can all now be accounted in a much less extravagant manner with the plasma scattering model as described in detail in this volume.

The authorship of this book has been attributed to Raymond F. Bonn by its actual author R. Fred Vaughan. There are several reasons for his having done this. Many of the philosophical rationales are elaborated by the actual author in his novel, _Not Julie_, that details the life and work of Raymond F. Bonn. Fred Vaughan's background is somewhat similar to the fictional biography of Ray Bonn. Both were born and raised in the Skagit river valley of Washington State. Both had broad intellectual and artistic interests, matriculated at the University of Washington majoring in physics with extensive additional course work in mathematics, the arts, literature, and philosophy. Both found love that warranted short-circuiting their post-graduate education in physics and nonetheless pursued their love of physics as a past time that blossomed in their early retirement. Both invented innovative electronic devices associated with their careers in engineering. Fred Vaughan received prestigious awards from the IEEE and ACM computer societies for his technical papers and journal articles. A primary difference between the actual and attributed author is that Fred Vaughan never went up to bat in old Yankee Stadium. But on the other hand, Ray Bonn never owned a stable of race horses, one of which won the Longacres Derby. Nor was Ray's wife ever selected as outstanding trainer in Washington State. Fred Vaughan has been associated with several of the ultra high IQ communities over the years, having edited the journal _Gift of Fire_ for the Prometheus High IQ Society for many years and also acted as president of that society. He edited the blog Reason and Rhyme for a couple of years. In addition to this work on nonfiction cosmology and a lengthy novel in which he created Ray Bonn, Fred Vaughan has also written scientific works that discuss his innovative ideas in thermodynamics and relativity. Other unpublished works are pending. Fred Vaughan and his wife have two children, each having given them a grandchild. His family is the major source of joy in his life.
