Synopsis

Part One of Lifeline for the End Times shows how the fundamental problem underlying the destruction of the earth is civilization and its inherent domination system based on violence. It begins by discussing the origin of the malignant fatal disease of our civilization; the domination/violence system. It looks at the foundation of civilization and how changing technologies have brought us to the end time. Today it is not a violent king who rules, but an oligarchy of predatory-capitalists. Part Two proposes a new humanity that is neither hierarchical nor violent and can be built on new memes of love and trust as the foundations of a new social structure.

À propos de l'auteur

Peter Lawson began his series of careers as a student, a construction laborer, dock builder, and factory worker. He was an Episcopal parish priest for 15 years, including seven years as Dean of Christ Church Cathedral in Indianapolis, Indiana. Leaving the ministry, he became a high-level political staffer in a gubernatorial campaign and spent a decade as an organizational and management development consultant. Back into the ministry, he focused on subverting the hierarchical structure of the church so that it might become an egalitarian community focused on love and trust. He is now making retirement worthwhile as a student, a writer, consultant, and agitator. The underlying pattern through all of his careers can be described as expeditions into organizations and institutions, trying to help them evolve to be more healthy and humane.
