Synopsis

What Happens When You Wake Up With A Target On Your Back? Just go and ask Michael Dolan, a young attorney and chief compliance officer for Bender Capital Lending, who finds himself the target of a federal criminal investigation. Set in the backdrop of the 2008 financial crisis, Michael is accused of taking part in a mortgage lending scheme. Left to contend with the injustice of the justice system, an overzealous and vengeful prosecutor and a long-time friend now cooperating with the FBI against him, Michael is forced to choose between maintaining his innocence or doing what is best for his family by accepting a plea deal. It’s an offer he can’t refuse … or can he? The Target is a page-turning examination of Washington and Wall Street’s betrayal of the public trust and illustrates the ease by which an innocent person can get caught up in a moral and legal struggle. Arden blends all the elements of greed, corruption, abuse of power and political intrigue into an emotionally charged financial legal thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat and wanting more at the end.
