Synopsis

I came to faith in Christ as a young man through the friendship and faithful witness of my friend and commanding officer in the Air Force, Doug Comstock. My life changed dramatically, and I had a great desire to share my faith and become a "fisher of men." My zeal took me beyond friends and family, but I found myself adopting a mechanical, confrontational style of evangelism in an effort to reach many more people for Christ. I was slipping away from the personal way the gospel had been shared with me, but how to get back there? Through Bible college and my first ministry, on to missionary service in Ecuador, God was teaching me how much I still needed to learn. This is the story of that journey, with its joys and sorrows, that brought me back to the personal approach to evangelism that was used to first introduce me to the truth of the gospel. Chuck De Cleene (MDiv, Capital Bible Seminary) has had the privilege of serving as a pastor, missionary, Bible college professor, associate pastor in a large church and now Pastor of Evangelism and Outreach in a new church plant. He has been married to his wife, Dianne, for 45 years and has been blessed with four children (plus two more by marriage) and ten grandchildren.
