With technology, music has never been more constant. It is heard on phones and in waiting rooms, in coffee shops and on television. Despite such exposure, the number of people able to make music for themselves is dwindling. Classical Christian schools have a unique motivation to remedy this. Building a musically literate culture is foundational for the cultivation of beauty and the worship of God. Where better to start a generational overhaul than with classrooms full of our littlest worshipers?
The options for music training are many, but not equal. This book is designed to help the school administrator or music teacher sift through the pile and emerge with a vision and tools for building a flourishing classical Christian music program.

Jarrod Richey is the Music Program Director and Director of Choral Activities at Geneva Academy in West Monroe, Louisiana where he has been teaching general music and choir since 2008. He holds a Masters of Music Degree from the University of Louisiana Monroe. Additionally, he received his Kodály music teacher certification from Wichita State University. He is the author of Bach to the Future: Fostering Music Literacy Today.
Dave was raised on an Idaho farm, earned an M.B.A., traveled the world with a fortune 500 tech company, and quit even though, at the time, he had no children of his own so that he could invest in classical Christian education. No one would have believed 30 years ago how essential - and hopeful - this work would become. He is a founding boardmember and was headmaster of The Ambrose School in Boise, Idaho for 13 years. Over 100,000 copies of his work "Discover Classical Christian Education" are in print, and he coauthored "Raise the Song: A Classical Christian Guide to Music Education". His most recent work is with Pete Hegseth on "Battle for the American Mind." He is the editor of The Classical Difference Magazine, and president of the Association of Classical Christian Schools. He has also appeared in publications like The Federalist and Townhall. Dave's wife Stormy is a writer and editor, and he has three children, all of whom were classically educated.
