Our nation’s high schools and colleges are full of students who possess the desire to be productive adults, but many of these students do not see the opportunities and possibilities for their future. These are often the students who are considered at-risk children.
To address the need for increasing pro-social behaviors as well as enhancing social-emotional learning (SEL), Coach Rich has developed the SOAP elective course. With this course students will receive additional social and emotional support that will help them see the balance and power within themselves and the positive opportunities and possibilities that await them in adulthood. 54 Principles of Self-Management is a textbook designed by Coach Rich to help both young people and adults with social-emotional learning (SEL) by developing knowledge, skills and attitudes that span across the 5 areas of CASEL’s social and emotional competence.
Coach Rich has shown us with his work that our common thread is made strong by proper self-management. Because of its concentration on all the “others,” such as other appearances, cultures, genders and religion, diversity training has been proven to have short-term positive effects. Self-management training on the other hand, focuses on the goal of individual growth, which results in participants becoming better people through engagement, social responsibility, and mentorship. If you want the world to be enriched, you first must be enriched. Learn it, share it and let us all grow into making the world a more balanced and peaceful place.
