Synopsis

The Circle of Always Becoming is set twelve hundred years in the future on a planet forty light years from earth and without the natural resources to sustain a highly technological society. Here, without their knowledge or permission, 400 colonists become the subject of a sociological experiment to see if it is possible for man to live forever in Paradise, or if –due to his flawed nature–he is doomed to live in exile. The Circle of Always Becoming is two stories in one. The first is the hero’s journey of a man who defies societal norms, and overcomes great physical hardships in order to obtain a saving boon for his people. The second story is a spiritual adventure. After becoming aware that everything he ever believed is a lie, the hero–using dreams and visions in the manner of Carl Jung–struggles to find purpose and meaning, and reconnect with God. Ultimately the hero must face the question: in his quest to save his people has he become their savior or the source of their expulsion from Paradise?
