She was inspired to write this book after spending hours volunteering in a kindergarten classroom and realizing that kids are often too scared to ask for help. She wrote this book in the hopes that young children would read it and realize how important it is to ask for help and help others.

A grandmother of ten, Mary Lacona is an amateur artist who is always ready to help her family. When her granddaughter Emma asked her for help, she jumped at the chance to illustrate a little dino and his friends.

Tracie McCarthy, nicknamed "the Grammar Police," is Emma's mom and editor. When Emma needed help making her book a bit more appealing to kids, Tracie was there and ready to help.
