Based on true events, this book is a biography of the injustice that is rife in healthcare systems through the eyes and ears of two naïve young medical students who grow up in Australia to become two naïve surgeons. Their lack of wisdom and their utopic approach to the Hippocratic Oath land them into hot water with those who run the mighty healthcare systems. Peter and Charlie are not convinced that politics and healthcare clash in a world that is largely unknown to the uninitiated. Charlie learns about suicide in healthcare workers before he even graduates from medical school while Peter fights his non-imaginary personal enemies as he tries to fix a broken system. Their paths cross. They grow older but no wiser. They think they can change the healthcare system to achieve what it's intended to do. They fail and they pay the price.
The stories in the book are not fictitious. They were all inspired by real life events. Names and often the gender of real people who have been involved in the real life events, were changed and so were the dates and places.
The book is Dedicated to the Healthcare Workers who are still looking for their voice, to those who are looking for the ugly truth about the human healthcare system and to those who want to do something about it!
