Synopsis

As they struggle thru a hurried marriage, silences, doubt and misunderstanding play out against a backdrop of antisemitism and racism. They coast along the quicksand of their hurried vows, until one day in a Raleigh diner, as two black soldiers are denied service, Bobbie begins to see past the silences and doubt. When Murray finally leaves on a troop ship for England, convinced he won't be coming home from war, Bobbie reflects on her short time with this stranger she calls 'husband' and wonders what a life together might be like if.....
An epilogue is set in 1994.
