Synopsis

On the eve of Maggie Raines' fiftieth birthday, her husband announces he has gotten his young receptionist pregnant. Months later, newly-divorced Maggie sees an ad for an 1800s cabin billed as the "perfect writer's retreat." For years she has wondered if she has what it takes to be a fiction writer. Maggie rents the cabin for the week between Christmas and New Year's hoping the old log walls will inspire a story. And they do-just not the story she imagines.

A propos du livre

À propos de l'auteur

In this moving modern-day story about a woman trying to piece her life back together, readers are transported to an 1800s cabin. A tragic event that occurred at the old homestead and the people in the small town who were most impacted by it hold out unexpected hope and inspiration for the budding author, and for anyone trying to regain their footing in a broken and uncertain world. Alone in a Cabin is Leanne W. Smith's first contemporary novel. Her Amazon bestseller, Leaving Independence, and its follow-up, A Contradiction to His Pride, were post-Civil War historicals. All three stories have ties to the fictional Marston County in Tennessee.
