Karen Wilke Heyse's passion for art began as a child when, at the age of 7, she received her first set of paints from her dad. She was a muralist for 20 years specializing in Children's rooms. Eventually she transitioned from mural painting to illustrating several best-selling books including Goodnight St. Louis, Good Morning Sanibel, Good Morning Door County, Good Night Door County, Train Your Brain (FUNdaMentals for Focusing), and The House That Moved. She lives with her husband Tom in Batavia, Illinois where she stays creative with her artwork, along with gardening and playing with her grandkids.
