Reviewer's comment on Intermediate Options text

This book is written by a team of authors, all of whom were responsible for writing specifications for the OCR/AQA Options Units for Intermediate and Advanced ICT. Series Editor, Jenny Lawson, has worked on the IT GNVQ almost from its inception and, for many years, was the Chief Examiner for GNVQ ICT at all three levels ??Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced GNVQ (now AVCE), including Part One for Foundation and Intermediate level GNVQ IT. Peter Bradshaw is Jenny??s successor as Chief Examiner for GNVQ IT Part One at Foundation and Intermediate level, and he and the other members of this team of authors are experienced teachers and examiners of GNVQ/AVCE ICT.

Intermediate GNVQ Information and Communication Technology Options comprehensively satisfies the needs of students following the latest specification. The book covers all optional units for GNVQ ICT as specified by all three awarding bodies: AQA, Edexcel and OCR. The Longman GNVQ Intermediate ICT book is available separately.

The book provides students with effective learning material, allowing them to develop an understanding of IT and introduce them to some of the skills and knowledge needed to go on to work or further study. It is packed with practical activities to achieve student-centred learning, while the end-of-chapter revision questions help to strengthen student comprehension and prepares them for tests. A comprehensive index offers a complete list of important words used in the book and key skills are referenced throughout.
