Synopsis

Written by Kate Griggs, a social entrepreneur, and the founder of the Dyslexic Thinking movement and charity, Made By Dyslexia, Xtraordinary People is a salient book for grown-ups to share with children diagnosed with dyslexia.

Dyslexic herself, Kate dedicates her life to teaching the world that dyslexic thinking is a superpower, and has used her expertise to create this book. Dyslexic children have a diagnosis that tells them they’re different, and this book is a comforting reminder that their differences are superpowers to be embraced and their dreams are no less attainable than their peers.

Xtraordinary People highlights for children how their differences can help them go wherever they want to in life, with quotes from famous names with dyslexia, such as Kiera Knightley, Princess Beatrice, Darcy Bussell, and Jamie Oliver, showing that the sky's the limit.

This book is crafted with both love and science that will make dyslexic children feel seen and less alone. Crucially, it shifts the narrative on dyslexia and educates people on its strengths. It is a much-needed hug for dyslexic children everywhere.
