Trapping was becoming a dying trade and not many could make it in such a harsh life. But Joshua Walker had worked these mountains and streams most of his adult life and preferred it, to what was becoming the new progressive way of living. With winter coming on soon he knew the much-feared Arikara Indians would be making way to their wintering camps so he skirted their country in search of place to set his traps and settle in for the winter himself. Just as he had begun his travels, he encountered something that bewildered him and upon closer inspection he bore witness to a grizzly scene that would alter his destiny forever.

Biographie de l'auteur

This novel was originally the product of a man with a gift to tell a story well. Capt. John James Van Vorst passed away in March of 1999 his work was a collaboration that he and the publishing author worked on for over eight years. Capt. Van Vorst was a rare man, with many gifts and abilities. He was so like his character Joshua Walker that it is with honor to share a piece of his gift with those of you who are touched by this story. The publishing author Jodi L. Westendorf lives in the Florida Keys where she is an accomplished PADI Master Scuba Instructor and was founder and President of the Coral Reef Foundation, responsible for protecting the coral reefs of the Keys. She currently resides on her sailboat "Ami's Edge" in the Florida Bay.
