Nell Gordon, young American widow in England, sees an old castle from the window of the bus. A tire blows. Waiting for repairs, Nell takes a stroll to the ruin. Inside, a small boy runs by. Concerned, she follows. Part of the floor she stands on collapses and she falls into a storage hold. Hurt and frightened, she calls for help. She hears a baby crying, but no one answers. While waiting she uncovers an embossed silver chest buried in the dirt and dust. David Tagert rescues her. She takes the chest with her. Together they search for the secret inside the chest.
