Biographie de l'auteur

Born in New Brunswick before the Second World War, Ruth Troughton grew up on a farm in Carleton County close to the Maine border. After graduating from high school at Debec, New Brunswick she attended Teachers College in Fredericton. One year in a one-room country school was followed by a teaching position with the Department of National Defence, Oromocto, New Brunswick. From there, after several years, she went to France for year, still with the Department of National Defence schools. In 1960 she married her husband, an army officer whose career took them back to Europe twice and to many parts of Canada. She now lives in St. Catharines, Ontario. Still deeply interested in teaching, she ran a riding school for eighteen years before beginning her writing career.
