Synopsis

Kovie Laveau is waging a fanatic pursuit for revenge. Once a brilliant student with a promising future, one bitter news story she wrote back in college to defame the wealthy family of the student who defeated her in the run for student-body president-cost her scholarship and seemingly crippled her life. Now, ten years later, working as a low-level reporter at a daily newspaper, her obsession with the past takes her beyond the limits of journalistic integrity as she pursues to bring down his family. A depressive pill-popper and alcoholic with an abuse-filled past that haunts her nightmares, she risks everything-her sanity down to her very own existence. Once Ansel Raison dies, Kovie with the help of some unsavory characters breaks into his estate, hoping she will find evidence to back her theory that the family is linked to organized crime. But there's a snag: Fabrice, the now Mayor of New Orleans, just happens to be staying in the house that night. In the end, Kovie gets her revenge, but not in the way she or anyone else expects.
