Roundup on the Pecos II relates the triumphs and failures, joys and sorrows, achievements and disappointments of dozens of selected Chaves County business people, educators, attorneys, ranchers, farmers, and others who have put their sweat and tears into the development of the Roswell area. This book is a companion volume to Roundup on the Pecos (1978) and is intended to honor our Patron Donors who helped us raise the funds to buy the land and erect the building for our Museum Archives Center.Realizing that a comprehensive history of Roswell has never been published in book form, we determined to include a brief history of the city. The books and articles that have been published about Roswell, as well as other books about various people and places in the Valley, were very useful in helping us to synthesize a brief general history of the city. We also included a number of photographs from our archives; and finally, we included an index in order to make the book more useful to researchers.Roundup on the Pecos II will be an important reference for historians and genealogists, as well as a valuable heirloom for the families featured in the book.
