Synopsis

In this heartfelt, personal story, the author shares how God took him out of the used car lot and transformed him into a hospice chaplain, caring for the sick and dying. Before surrendering his life to the Lord, he lived a self centered, secular life. Some of his experiences included playing the trumpet with a traveling circus in England, serving in a U.S. Army band during the Vietnam War, coming to Los Angeles and playing professionally with several different bands, and finally forming his own five-piece combo in 1966. He had it all. He was married to his childhood sweetheart; he had a young son, and lived in a beautiful canyon home. He drove a Thunderbird, loved going to parties and trips to Las Vegas, smoking drinking and all that went along with that lifestyle. But it all abruptly changed.Within a year, his wife left him, he lost his canyon home and his daytime job with a music company, which was his main source for engagements for his band. He even lost his desire to play his trumpet. Following the advice of a friend he applied for a job selling imported cars for a British Car dealership in Pasadena. From there he tells how God entered his life and made him a new creation and called him into the ministry.
