Ellen Perecman is Executive Producing Director of New Worlds Theatre Project, a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit theatre company in New York City dedicated to exploring and preserving -- in English -- the rich vein of Yiddish dramatic literature. New Worlds Theatre Project?s mission is to foster an appreciation for the literary legacy of the Yiddish language and the extent to which it has enriched the broader cultural landscape. Ms. Perecman, a native Yiddish speaker with roots in what is now Belarus (Postov and Mikhalishik), is an actress and a Ph.D. in Linguistics.
