The Donauschwaben, a mostly unknown ethnic group of Germans, migrated to Yugoslavia in the late 1700s. Endless boundary conflicts varyingly defined their land as Hungary, Yugoslavia, or Serbia. Kathryn Schaeffer Pabst holds a BS in advertising from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and an MAT in Humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is currently a teacher of English and resides in Fairview, Texas.
