For more than a decade, Jenifer Tidwell has been building and maintaining user interfaces for a variety of industry verticals, often in the Java programming language. She considers herself part UI designer, part architect, part software developer. Most recently, she was the lead UI architect at MathWorks, redesigning the charting and visualization UI of MATLAB, a product used by researchers, students, and engineers worldwide to develop cars, planes, proteins, and theories about the universe.
