Synopsis
An authoritative memoir of the legendary rock guitarist by his friend and collaborator Mitch Mitchell, drummer with the Jimi Hendrix Experience. 'The Hendrix Experience' recounts the entire history of this ground-breaking musician's rise to prominence, from the tiny clubs of London's Soho to the rock festivals at Monterey and Woodstock. The book includes a wealth of personal anecdotes about Jimi both on and off stage, and details of concert set lists and rare memorabilia. It contains over 200 illustrations, including previously unpublished photos taken by Mitchell himself. The publication will coincide with the 30th anniversary of Hendrix's death in September 1970.

Mitch Mitchell was the drummer with The Jimi Hendrix Experience from their debut to their final date in 1970. John Platt is a New York-based music writer, also archive consultant for tv and video music documentaries.
