Mark Speckman has lived a life that would make any mother proud. He was an altar boy, an accomplished musician, and an honorable mention All-American football player. He was a teacher in a public high school who worked with disadvantaged youth and the coach of the #1 team in the state of California. Mark is now the head football coach of Willamette University, a team he led in 2008 to an undefeated regular season and a number one seed in the NCAA Division III playoffs, as well as a devoted husband and father of three adult children. It's amazing to think he's done all of this without hands. Born on July 31st 1955, Mark has spent a lifetime figuring out not only how he was going to do things like button his shirt, but play sports and practice music. He has been a part of a high school's integration, and he has helped develop an unconventional offense that has piqued the interest of coaches around the country. His speeches on motivation, leadership, attitude, and potential have inspired thousands, and his message, "Figure It Out" is universal. This is Mark Speckman's story.
