GARY SCARPELLO, Ph.D., has been teaching mathematics, social studies, and computer science/technology to high school students for over 25 years. In his years of teaching he has taught a variety of student populations including career-technical, adjudicated, court dependent, and learning and emotional support students. He conducts workshops providing effective teaching tips and techniques for career-technical education teachers integrating mathematics into their program curriculum. His articles on mathematics anxiety and teaching practices have appeared in Techniques and Education Digest.
