You’ve never seen the 70’s like this before. Travel back in time, with a band of unlikely young River Rats on the upper Mississippi, to the Bicentennial summer of 1976. From tempestuous all-night beach parties and waterways filled with roaring outboards, to forgotten back-roads, muscle cars, turbulent rivalries, and naïve erotic explorations, they live life on the edge, heedless of the consequences, through the epic seasons of a year that will forever change their lives, in a pre-AIDS, pre-internet, pre-screen addicted middle America, on the final cusp of innocence.

Growing up in western Wisconsin, Brian D Garrity spent much of it living on the Mississippi River. After moving to the Twin Cities to attend the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, he became entrenched in the local underground art and music scene, documenting many of the bands, playing in a few of his own. An editorial and commercial photographer during the nineties and beyond, Brian shot for Spin, Rolling Stone, and Interview Magazine. He created iconic covers for Alternative Press of celebrities including Radiohead, Rancid, and Marilyn Manson. In 2005, Brian self-published a novella, ‘Ready-Made Dreams’, and Onyx Neon Press included his Science Fiction short ‘Godless’ in their 2010 Sci-Fi anthology, ‘Cifiscape Vol. I’. ‘Vol. II, to be released in March 2012, will include his follow-up short ‘Bullseye Inc’. ‘Still Waters Run Deep’ is his first full-length novel. He currently resides in Minneapolis, in a continuous state of astonishment.
