Stephen L. Avard, Jr. received a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in history, political science, and legal studies from Rice University in 1987 and a Juris Doctorate from The Texas Tech University School of Law in 1992. For sixteen years, he practiced commercial litigation law across the State of Texas, primarily in San Antonio, and today he is a successful real estate investor and President of Maidstone Real Estate, Inc. A Christian for almost four decades, Avard has studied The Holy Bible for many years, believes anyone can achieve enlightenment through Christian meditation, and teaches that Christian mysticism is an overlooked tool of faith that can change lives. An independent publisher of transformative books, he recently founded Avard Enterprises, LLC. Author of "The Sun Inside Closed Eyes", Avard is a family man and a servant of God who writes and lives in Houston, Texas and Mount Crested Butte, Colorado.
