Mike Maharrey serves as the national communications director for the Tenth Amendment Center. He earned a B.A. in Mass Communications and Media Studies with an emphasis in news and editorial journalism at the University of South Florida. He has covered state and local politics for several newspapers, including the St. Petersburg Times and the Kentucky Gazette. He won two Kentucky Press Association awards in 2009. While working toward his degree, Mike played two seasons for the USF Ice Bulls and earned American Collegiate Hockey Association Academic All-American honors in 2008 at the ripe young age of 40. Mike lives in Lexington, Ky. and is working with his wife Cynthia to raise three teenagers. In his spare time, Mike still enjoys stopping some pucks and studying history.
