D.J. is from a small community in the Foothills of North Carolina. Being from this area of the Blue Ridge Mountains with its vast array of story-telling, D.J. can recount many days of sitting by her Mother's and Grandmother's side listening to breathtaking tales of the mountains. Story-telling became a part of her nature. One of D.J.'s elementary school teachers realized the potential ability she had for writing to entertain and capture readers. Although, it has been a number of years since that elementary classroom setting, D.J. is seeking to fulfill that ability. Lambert credits her heritage, her teacher mentor and the diverse tales of the Applachias as the greatest influence for her desire to weave stories. D.J. and her husband, Lyn, have two adult daughters and a "perfect" grandson. They love to spend time with them as often as possible.
