It’s the year 2024 and all aspects of the American culture are being changed. New “heroes” have emerged, the guns have been taken away from the people, children are being indoctrinated, our forefathers have been discarded in the trash can of history, and a system of apartheid has been implemented. The American culture is being transformed. The United States of America has fallen under the grip of radical leftists, led by a narcissistic and egomaniacal President. His political party is in control of Congress, the federal electoral system, and the Judiciary. Constitutional rule is being ignored and the situation is becoming hopeless for all those who refuse to submit to the party in power. A glimmer of hope appears when the President agrees to elections after canceling them in 2020. But tyranny does not surrender easily when deceit and murder are the tools of their trade. A Changing of the Guard was finished in 2007. When you consider that some of the political events described in this book have taken place between its completion and its publication in 2013, can we be sure that a natural progression to the other events in the book will not happen in the near future? Will Americans repeat the same mantra, “It cannot happen here”, which has been voiced by citizens of the former Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Cuba, Viet Nam, Venezuela, and countless others? A Changing of the Guard does not presume of predicting the future. All it intends to do is project towards the future by extrapolating recent political events, in the U.S. and abroad, into an easy to read, and at times humorous novel, with characters the reader will find either lovable or despicable. But beware, it has also been shown to awaken the sleeping citizen and fill his mind with fear and apprehension.
