Synopsis

Gabe and Abby are kindergarten aged twins on a summer camping trip with their family. They're pretending to fish with their toy fishing poles at the edge of a pond near their tent, when one of their hooks snags a boot. The content of that boot starts an adventure in which the kids become heroes when they rescue one of God's wonderful creatures, nurse it back to health, and release it. The park ranger on duty sees the whole thing and renames a park hiking bridge to honor a "new best friend" of the twins.

À propos de l'auteur

The author, Brian Halla, has twin grandchildren who enjoy fishing in the small creek that runs at the back of their yard. This particular story was inspired by a dream Brian had which brought forth all of the dialogue and scenery which, upon waking, he typed out and described for his illustrator. Brian has enjoyed an exciting career in the high-tech industry having recently retired as the CEO of one of the oldest and largest semiconductor companies in Silicon Valley. For him, the joy of producing this book rivals the very best experiences of that 43 years.
