Synopsis

In 20 years of counseling women, couples and parents, the author has often observed their frustration, anger, discouragement and disillusionment regarding their relationships. Besides lacking insight into their own early emotional traumas and dysfunctional family systems, many of these individuals generally lacked skills in the areas of communication, partnership and intimacy. It is beyond the scope of this booklet to explore how an intimate relationship can trigger deep-seated emotional and unconscious issues for each individual. However, it will help the reader deal with a breakdown she/he may be experiencing in communication, partnership and intimacy issues. It will help to pinpoint the area of disturbance, pain and confusion when conflict does occur. And it will help to identify what is needed to achieve a fulfilling relationship. A door may open that will prompt you to further explore the nuts and bolts of your relationship problems. Our relationships offer us an opportunity to grow and transform, but it is not an easy task.
