'Where is John?' This is the question that haunts the narrator as the date for her husband's return from a three-month walk-about in Australia passes without his making any contact. In this true story Mary Monaghan takes us on a journey from meeting her husband John in the Irish community in London, to following her love to Johannesburg in the tumultuous apartheid years where they start a life of happiness together. All is not as it seems however. Soon Mary discovers that John's business has failed and not only has he disappeared but he has left her with substantial debts. Her story becomes one of abandonment, deceit and betrayal. After years of not hearing from him, attempting to trace him through Interpol and private investigators, hanging on to hope in an era of uncertainty both political and personal, the mystery of his disappearance is revealed. 'Remember Me?' is a poignant story of Mary coming to terms with the past and finding her own place in life in a cottage by the sea.
