This little book is a visual identification guide for animals likely to be encountered on game drives in the eastern bushveld game reserves and parks in Southern Africa. The bushveld houses over 200 larger mammals, more than 500 bird species and a wealth of reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates. Animals encountered on game drives can be from the entire spectrum of the animal world, but this booklet concentrates on the larger mammal species, only a few small species, and some of the common birds that may be seen.

Biographie de l'auteur

Heinrich van den Berg is an international award-winning wildlife photographer imbued with a deep love and understanding of the Southern African wilderness: like his parents Phillip and Ingrid, also renowned nature photographers. The Van den Berg portfolio is truly amazing, and the photos continue to be regularly featured in a wide variety of world media, including the likes of the New York Times, Terra Sauvage, National Geographic, GEO, Terra and many others. Apart from running the photo agency, Heinrich started HPH Publishing in 2001 as a means of publishing the Van den Berg work in high-quality book form.
