Synopsis

What drives someone to abandon their two-year-old son and six-months-old daughter? Even more puzzling, what drives a mother to abandon her infant children to pursue a career of prostitution and drugs? And what would it take for her to regain her life and dignity? Will she succeed, will she rise every time she falls, will she endure till the end, and will love survive? In A Broken Reed the author invites you to follow the story of this young mother in her battle to be accepted back into so-called normal society. It covers the day to day stress endured by both the addict, and her knight in shining armour, a single Christian male, who never married, and was always waiting for Miss Right. Then he met her, or so he believed. The road with her leads him to despair, agony, stress, depression, consoling, and every other related emotion in his quest to endure and stand by her emotionally, financially, and morally. He offers up his lifestyle of freedom, parties and women to support the girl he fell in love with so she can be free, and what he gets in return is a journey that takes him to places he could never have imagined even existed. If it hadn’t been for his continuous consultations with the Holy Spirit for upliftment and minute by minute guidance through this daunting and impossible task, he would surely have fallen too. If he had known beforehand what lies ahead, he may never have signed up for the task.
