Fransjohan Pretorius is an author and professor of history at the University of Pretoria. His pioneering work on the Anglo-Boer War has lead to numerous awards, and he is regarded a world expert on this topic. His life on Commando during the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902 was a runner-up for the Sunday Times Alan Paton Award.
