This is a second generation genetic manipulation book. It goes beyond the simple cloning of a gene to describe and evaluate the concepts and approaches that are currently pushing back the frontiers of eukaryotic molecular biology and forming the basis of a technological revolution. The book is in three parts. Part 1 outlines the structure and function of the genome and describes basic techniques in molecular biology.
