Synopsis
Although medical students learn basic immunology as part of their preclinical course, many have little understanding of the clinical relevance of these mechanisms. This book is intended to show the wide range of diseases in which immune mechanisms play a part and the usefulness or otherwise of immunological tests in diagnosis and management. The book deals both with basic disease processes and with organ-based disorders. This standard textbook has been thoroughly revised, with expanded coverage of transplantation, hepatitis virus, molecular biology, imaging and biliary disease.
