This book provides just such a work, covering the design, detailing and construction of precast skeletal structures.
Architectural matters, such as integrated structural building facades, are explained against a background of recent case studies. Structural design methods featured include frame and component analysis, precast floors, composite construction, diaphragm action, connections and frame stability. There are also chapters on design for robustness and temporary stability during frame erection.
The text contains state–of–the–art information, together with numerous worked examples borne out of the author′s many years of practical experience in precast concrete design and construction. These include the preliminary design of a four story structure, and over 14 problems in connection design alone.
