About the Author

Leeanne Splatt lives by the sea with her husband and their two small dogs. She has been creating art with marine debris since 2019 to promote awareness of the growing plastic pollution issue. Her art featured in a week-long exhibition highlighting ocean plastics, held at the world’s largest Muji store in Naoetsu, Japan. In 2021 she co-founded the Marine Friends Project, which the Itoigawa Board of Education supports, and wrote “Art for the Environment”, a dual language booklet featuring her beach art, to inspire school children.
