Synopsis

"It was not in my father's plan that I should go to school..." said Matonya. His life, from being a child animal keeper to Principal of Msalato Theological College is an example of sweeping changes occurring in Africa.

Lynne Clarke lived and taught at Msalato near Dodoma in Tanzania for two and a half years, from 2010 to 2012, but found herself the learner. Friendships led her to discover stories of people that touch the heart.

She writes with wit and charm and with a wide perspective of African life that follows on from her previous book, "Munguishi Weavings.

During her time there the college celebrated fifty years of its life, from simple beginnings to being a place of significant influence. It continues to encourage the inspirational faith and joy with which so many Africans face their world.

Travel with her to Africa, to live and learn there too.
