LT Gibbons grew up in a Victorian seaside town in North Wales called Llandudno - the holiday home of Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for CS Lewis's Alice in Wonderland. She has loved books ever since she could remember. Her dad used to read nightly bedtime stories to her when she was a little girl and - as soon as she could decipher the jumble of letters herself - she spent most of her childhood hidden away, curled up with a good book. She went to university in Nottingham, England - the home of legendary outlaw Robin Hood - and two years later moved to the South of France, to study French for a year. She now lives within walking distance of Australia's interminably inviting and distracting Bondi Beach. The idea for her first book series, Project Ark, came to her one wintery day in Sydney. It was the lead-up to the election and she wondered idly what the world would be like if she ran it. Within a few hours, she'd conjured up her fictional planet, Usonia, and outlined the entire sci-fi trilogy. At the clever suggestion of her wise mother, she returned to Wales to write the novel - without the distraction of sunshine and beaches. And within 8 weeks of welsh winter hermitude, she'd written her first book. Her second novel, Operation Earth, was released in 2015.
