The Pretend Friend chronicles the changing nature of a childhood friendship.
Growing up, Mikayla and Bella were like two peas in a pod, but things changed when they reached High School and as the two best friends grew up, they began to grow apart. After receiving nasty, anonymous messages on Social Media, Mikayla tried to confide in her friend and soon realised that Bella wasn't a true friend after all. This story provides a timely message about Social Media including coping strategies relating to online bullying.
This relatable story is complemented by The Pretend Friend Question Guide, which has been created to ignite discussion and encourage the reader to strengthen their reading comprehension skills.
