Dr. Rashika Perera Gomez is a psychologist, musician and mother. Her life's journey has taken her from Sri Lanka, the land of her birth, to the USA, the land of her education, to Australia, the land that is now her home. In her poems she weaves together her life stories with the stories of those who have crossed her path on this journey between starkly different lands. She gives voice to the sufferings and tribulations of the heartbroken and the victorious. She writes from a position of strength and vulnerability, making her poems relatable to others' life journeys. RISE is her debut book, and a tribute to those who rise above the most gruelling of life's curveballs.
